A few months ago I bought one of these:
Image

Its a wireless remote dual zone thermometer. It means I can keep an eye on the temperature from the comfort of my armchair. (Fat chance!!!)

But it will come in handy later in the year to keep an eye on the temperature in the garage, where the tortoise table is, and where the Pies will be throughout their hibernation.

It means I can keep an eye on the temperature in the garage as often as I want, without having to keep opening the door.

Clever eh!

They are on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wireless-Weather-Thermometer-Clock-Time-Remote-Sensor_W0QQitemZ250490064776QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Gadgets?hash=item3a525f0f88&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

They are good Jo, i had one from a car boot sale last year, perfect for hibernating tortoises too.
Just point towards, plumbers use them for finding cold spots on pipework.
